🌍 The Freedom Stories Project

Updated: May 5

What is The Freedom Stories Project (in short):

The Freedom Stories Project is a growing archive of powerful, anonymous stories — captured through 1-to-1 interviews with people from all over the world. Written by Beth and shaped with care, each story holds raw emotion, personal turning points, and the reminder that we’re never as alone as we think.

The world is reduced to numbers.

8 billion people.

It’s so immense, it becomes meaningless.

But hidden inside that number is you. Me. Everyone.

And yet most of us never step outside our own little corner—never hear from the others who are out there, living completely different lives, facing unthinkable challenges, making outrageous choices, and chasing freedom in ways we can’t imagine.

That’s where The Freedom Stories Project comes in.

This is not just a blog series. It’s a global movement to document the lives we don’t see on social media.

The stories that don’t make the headlines.

The voices that speak from the heart, not the algorithm.

🎤 What Exactly Is This?

The Freedom Stories Project is a growing archive of real, uncensored human stories—told by people from all walks of life, in all corners of the world.

It’s about raw moments. Turning points. Breakdowns and breakthroughs.

It’s about how people are chasing, fighting for, or finally living in their own version of freedom—whether that means walking away from everything, rebuilding something new, or simply finding peace within.

🌱 Where It Starts... and Where It’s Going

Right now, I’m starting close to home—documenting stories from the people around me. Friends. Strangers. The everyday people you might walk past and never guess the weight or wonder of what they’ve lived through.

But this project was never meant to stay small.

Later this year, I’m moving to Bali for a while—and that’s where Freedom Stories will truly go international. I’ll be gathering voices from all walks of life, cultures, and belief systems.

I’ve made a conscious choice to build a life centred around lifelong learning, exploration, and creativity—and that kind of life doesn’t exist within the borders of a hometown routine.

This journey will take me across the world, collecting stories that reflect the full spectrum of the human experience—shared from dusty roads, jungle cafés, hostel rooftops, temple steps, and everywhere in between.

No set path. No final destination. Just a mission to collect the real, human moments that remind us we’re more alike than we think.

From backpackers to barefoot philosophers. Creatives, climbers, expats, monks, mothers, wanderers, and wildcards. Then, the journey continues. Country to country. One voice at a time.

I’ll be travelling full-time, collecting these stories and sharing them right here—on The Freedom Edit. This page will become a living, breathing tapestry of human experience. And if you’ve ever felt lost, stuck, hopeful, hungry, or just human—there will be something here for you.

🧭 Why It Matters

Because we are starving for real stories. Not TikToks. Not PR-perfect lives. Truth. Mess. Growth. Soul.

Freedom doesn’t look the same for everyone. For some, it’s the courage to leave. For others, it’s finally staying. But one thing is certain: hearing someone else’s truth can unlock something in your own.

You’ll see yourself in people you never imagined you’d relate to. You’ll be challenged. Uplifted. Grounded. But most of all—you’ll remember how big and connected this world really is.

🗣️ How the Stories Are Told

These aren’t surface-level conversations.

The Freedom Stories Project is built on one-on-one, honest, heart-to-heart interviews—conversations where people feel safe enough to open up about the real stuff. I sit down with each person, face to face, and give them space to share their journey in their own words, at their own pace.

Most posts will be anonymous, not only to preserve the privacy of the story teller but also to ensure they can freely tell their truths in the interview without feeling they will be judged by anyone.

Right now, all interviews are in English—but that won’t stop me from connecting with people around the world. As I travel, I’ll do my best to bridge language barriers using translation tools, visual storytelling, and shared human moments that speak louder than words ever could.

Because freedom, pain, growth, and courage—they’re universal. Even when the language isn’t.

✉️ Want to Share Your Story?

Have you lived through something that changed you? Are you chasing your own version of mental, emotional, or physical freedom? Or do you know someone who has a story that needs to be heard?

I want to talk to you.

This is The Freedom Stories Project.

One by one. Story by story. Until the world stops feeling like numbers—and starts feeling human again.
